What a week it was!
This week was a new adventure for me. It's been a while since I've sat in any kind of class that I really had to concentrate and use my brain. I felt like this week that I had to dust off my brain. I was so excited to get to attend this class. In the past year I changed my teaching direction. For the past 10 years I had been working in a severe profound classroom and then this year I moved to teaching inclusion in a first grade classroom. As I entered the school year I felt so unprepared but I was blessed to be placed in the classroom with an excellent teacher. She was willing to teach me along with her twenty first graders. As the year progressed I began to settling into my new job but it was obvious to me that I needed some more training if I was really going to be able to help these students the way they needed to be served. During this week of class I kept thinking if I had only had all this information I could have helped my students more. This week was exactly the information that I needed. I am excited about the coming year and applying this new found knowledge.

Old Dogs can learn new tricks
Here is proof that old dogs can learn new tricks. I have started a blog. I have never been a person who embraces technology happily. In fact it does tend to strike terror in my heart and cause me to have a tendency to say words that my mother would not have approved of , but with a lot of help from my techno savvy friend Amy I managed to get this part of my assignment accomplished. So here's the proof an old dog can learn new tricks with help, patience and some prayer. It may be simple but my hope for the future is that I learned to embrace this new found skill and perfect it and use it as a learning tool.
